The Haifa Magistrate's Court extended his remand by an additional three days.
Emergency services and the Israel Police were called last Friday to the couple's apartment on HaAtsma'ut Street in downtown Haifa following reports of a critically injured woman. Medical teams evacuated Yonit to Rambam Health Care Campus while performing intensive resuscitation efforts, but doctors were ultimately forced to pronounce her death. In the initial stages, police investigated all directions, but investigators from the Haifa station and the Carmel region arrested the husband and sent the body to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute.

The organization noted that Janina left behind a two-month-old infant and highlighted that she had virtually no media coverage prior to the tragedy because she had no family in Israel. The forum stated it is currently supporting her grieving mother back in Belarus.
