Shocking: Officers from the Haifa station of the Israel Police revealed on Tuesday that they opened an investigation several days ago following a complaint from a Holocaust survivor in her 90s, who allegedly fell victim to a sophisticated scam.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect, a 54-year-old Haifa resident, first stole the victim's credit card during a shared ride. She later arrived at the victim's home under the pretext of performing medical examinations, where she allegedly stole additional property. Subsequently, she used the credit card to make purchases totaling thousands of shekels.

Investigators from the Haifa station carried out various investigative actions that led to the identification and arrest of the suspect. During the arrest, it emerged that the suspect was under electronic monitoring, which she allegedly violated while committing the offenses.

The Israel Police announced that, in accordance with the needs of the investigation, they will request an extension of her detention at the Magistrate's Court in Haifa today.
