Hadassah Ben-Ari on ending the 'diaper era' after 16 years: 'How strange it feels'

Israeli author and media personality Hadassah Ben-Ari, known to many through her marriage to singer Hanan Ben-Ari, often shares personal moments with her social media followers. This time, she revealed a significant milestone: her youngest daughter has been potty trained, ending a period that lasted for 16 consecutive years.
'I deserve congratulations. I am walking through my daily life in euphoria. The diapers have left the nest after a streak of 16 good and sweet years. And smelly. Our Shoshanale has been potty trained,' Ben-Ari wrote.
Alongside the sense of relief, she admitted that the end of this period brought unexpected emotions:
'I am walking down the street without a stroller and without diapers for the first time in 16 years, and I think how strange it is to suddenly walk without holding anything. My hands are still making the motion of leaning, but suddenly that thing I knew about my life is gone. And although it is incredibly fun, I feel like I am mourning. Is that logical?'
She also addressed the evolution of her parenting approach:
'The children tell me, "Mom, you have run out of energy to educate." I try to explain to them that I have matured. I made sure to start the generator, and from now on it is about planting good feelings, truth, love, and prayer in life, and letting things happen without personal determination.'
She concluded with a story about a message from her daughter: 'She wrote that she loves me, is grateful for everything, and will always take care of me. I wrote back that when the time comes, please do not send me to a nursing home, and that she should change my diapers if I need it.'
