Chef Guy Gamzu Revolutionizes Israeli Dining With Affordable Prices
Chef Guy Gamzu, the new judge on "Game of Chefs", is revolutionizing the Israeli culinary scene with affordable prices, bringing fine food to everyone.

Chef Guy Gamzu, the new judge on "Game of Chefs", is shaking up the Israeli culinary scene with his affordable pricing strategy. Embracing the label of the "Rami Levy of the restaurant world", Gamzu aims to make fine food accessible to everyone without compromising on quality.
From Humble Beginnings to Prime Time
Growing up in a financially struggling family in south Tel Aviv, Gamzu learned the value of hard work at a very young age. After his father fell severely ill during reserve military service, leaving him disabled, young Guy helped his mother clean offices and homes. His passion for cooking was born in the Persian kitchen of his mother Rachel, leading him to work in professional kitchens by the age of 14.
"My agenda is that every person, no matter where they come from and how much money they have in their pocket, can sit at my place, order a bruschetta and a glass of wine for 20 shekels and feel the most wanted and happiest person in the world," Gamzu shared.
Breaking Market Rules
Today, Gamzu stands behind successful establishments like Aria, Helena, and Issakaya. By introducing market-shattering deals—such as four gyoza for just 12 shekels—he generates massive crowds and vibrant dining atmospheres. When presenting these low prices to his partners before opening Helena, they were skeptical, but Gamzu's intuition proved right as packed restaurants ensure long-term success.
As he steps into his new role as a television judge alongside culinary heavyweights and prepares to open a traditional Greek restaurant named Phryne on the ruins of the legendary Minta Ray in Tel Aviv, Gamzu remains deeply connected to his roots and his core mission of culinary accessibility.
