Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg joined student protests in France, where demonstrations over school conditions have led to thousands of arrests and widespread unrest. Thunberg, wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh, appeared outside a high school in a Parisian working-class suburb, expressing solidarity with the youth demanding their fundamental rights.

The student-led protests, now entering their fourth week, began as a demonstration against poor school conditions, overcrowded classrooms, and a lack of teachers in working-class neighborhoods. However, the movement has increasingly drawn broader political involvement and friction, with critics accusing the radical left of exploiting the unrest ahead of next year's presidential election.

Clashes between protesters and police have resulted in over a thousand injuries, prompting the government to temporarily suspend the use of stun grenades. Meanwhile, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot warned against foreign interference in upcoming elections, specifically pointing to external actors, social media campaigns, and alleged attempts to weaponize domestic divisions.
