Almost a year after its release, Loser by Tame Impala has reached the top of Spotify's global chart for the first time, largely due to its inclusion in the movie 'Spider-Man: A New Day'. Following the film's release on July 31, the song re-entered the global chart on August 2 at number 87, eventually climbing to the number one spot. In the USA, it currently sits at number 4.

Three other Tame Impala tracks are currently in the global Top 200, including 'Dracula' featuring Jennie, which is already being tipped as a potential candidate for Song of the Year or Record of the Year. Kevin Parker, the man behind Tame Impala, likely has plenty of reasons to thank Peter Parker—the man behind the Spider-Man mask.

This commercial success arrives just as many critics have mercilessly panned Parker's latest album, Deadbeat. For many listeners, Parker seems to have abandoned the visionary and sophisticated sound of his early career in favor of pop music lacking in daring. Yet, on the other hand, Parker and Tame Impala are currently enjoying more recognition than ever before.
