Severe accusations against Rambam Hospital: IDF soldier wounded in Lebanon received inappropriate treatment

Severe allegations were raised on Sunday against Rambam Hospital staff regarding the treatment of a wounded IDF soldier. Family members claimed the soldier was left unattended and treated brutally by nursing staff.
The soldier's brother described the events of the weekend, stating that his brother, who was sedated and intubated, woke up suffering from burns and pain. He claimed that an Arabic-speaking night shift removed families from the ward and locked the doors.
"You have to understand the situation: four severely wounded soldiers find themselves alone, surrounded by an entire Arabic-speaking staff behind locked doors. It's completely crazy," he wrote. The relative claimed he broke down the door after being denied entry. "He was begging for water and no one was around. He whispered to me that they turned him in bed brutally 'like a sardine', his head was slammed into the bed and no one cared." According to the family, hospital security was called when they protested.
The soldier's uncle called for an immediate investigation: "We know how to post guards for a terrorist - and who is guarding our soldiers?" He demanded that the hospital management preserve security footage from the ward and corridors.
Defense Minister Israel Katz instructed the IDF to urgently investigate the claims. "I view the published testimonies with great severity. The heroic IDF soldiers who were wounded while defending the State of Israel deserve the best care. If it turns out that any of the staff members treated the wounded soldiers inappropriately - this will not be overlooked," Katz wrote.
Rambam denied the claims: "High-quality and professional care is provided in the hospital to all patients, and certainly to IDF soldiers, by a professional and skilled staff. In recent months, hundreds of wounded soldiers have been treated at the hospital, receiving the best care at the leading trauma center in Israel. We take every claim with full seriousness and investigate such inquiries in depth."
Member of Knesset Ahmad Tibi responded: "This is a vile, despicable, and racist witch hunt against Arab medical teams in hospitals. This time, against dedicated nurses in the intensive care unit at Rambam, who do their work faithfully. This is a new racist trend in the Israeli reality. I expected Rambam Hospital to issue a statement backing its employees who are subject to life-threatening attacks."
