Arrests Made in Golani Interchange Murder Investigation

Investigators from the Northern District's Central Unit (YAMAR) have arrested three residents of Tur'an, including a married couple, on suspicion of involvement in the murder of 38-year-old Rabi'a Abeidi. Abeidi's body was discovered in the Lavi Forest in the Lower Galilee. Police suspect that Abeidi, a resident of the Palestinian village of Zububa in the northern West Bank, was killed following his demand for compensation from some of the suspects.

According to police findings, Abeidi had been employed for two years at a construction company owned by some of the suspects. Investigators believe a dispute arose between the parties after Abeidi decided to end his employment and demanded financial compensation for the two-year period. Police suspect that the detainees called the victim, who had recently been working in Umm al-Fahm, and asked him to meet near the Golani Interchange to resolve the financial dispute. During the meeting, Abeidi was allegedly beaten to death, and his body was subsequently abandoned in an open area.

Family Mourns and Demands Justice

We know who the suspects in the murder are. Rabi'a was murdered because he demanded compensation for two years of work. It is very sad that someone who demands their rights is exposed to threats and murder,

said Kamal, the victim's brother.

Kamal added that his brother was married and the father of three children who repeatedly ask when their father will return. The suspects are scheduled to be brought before the Magistrates' Court in Nof HaGalil for an extension of their detention as the investigation continues.
