Woman in Her 60s Dies in House Fire in Northern Golan Heights

A woman in her 60s died Sunday morning in a house fire in the Druze town of Majdal Shams in the northern Golan Heights. Magen David Adom paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

A woman in her 60s died this morning (Sunday) in a house fire that broke out in the Druze town of Majdal Shams in the northern Golan Heights. Firefighters from the Galilee-Golan region arrived at the scene, began extinguishing the flames, and rescued the woman from the building unconscious after she had inhaled heavy smoke. Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

MDA paramedic Ahmad Safadi recounted: "We received a report of a fire in a building, and upon arrival, we saw the house filled with smoke. We found the woman lying unconscious at the entrance, pulseless and breathless after inhaling a large amount of smoke. We began resuscitation efforts, including chest compressions, artificial ventilation, and medications, at the end of which we unfortunately had to pronounce her dead."

At the end of August, a man died in a fire that broke out in a residential parking lot in Rishon LeZion while he was inside his vehicle. Fire and rescue forces arrived at the scene on Achi Lehav extinguish the blaze, where the body was located and transferred for identification to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute. Police opened an investigation, with no suspicion of foul play.

Two weeks earlier, a woman in her 40s died in a fire that broke out on HaOrugim Street in Holon. MDA teams arriving at the spot found the woman suffering from burns across her body after inhaling heavy smoke, and were forced to pronounce her dead on site.
