Gal Gadot injured on set and finished on crutches
After months of running training for "The Runner", Gal Gadot revealed that she broke her feet and finished filming on crutches. At the same time, she also addressed the possibility of returning as Wonder Woman.

Gal Gadot is used to action movies, but on the set of "The Runner" she was actually injured. In an interview with PEOPLE ahead of the film's release, Gadot shared that she broke her feet and finished work on the film on crutches.
"I finished the film on crutches"
In "The Runner", Gadot plays a successful London lawyer who, during a morning run, receives a call informing her that her son has been kidnapped. To save him, she is forced to follow the instructions of a mysterious person. For the role, she trained for months and worked with an Olympic coach on her running technique.
At a certain point, the training and filming resulted in an injury.
"I finished the film on crutches," Gadot said.
According to her, she broke her feet during the work and subsequently required a recovery period. Some of the scenes that were not completed due to the injury were filmed later. After months of running for the film, she said that as far as she is concerned, the idea has been exhausted: "I think we've exhausted the running idea for me, after running for so many months in that way."
Despite her experience in action movies, this time it was a different kind of strain: "I've done a lot of action movies in my career, but I've never done a movie where I'm running every day all day." On the last day, she said, she was ready to stop: "I needed a break. Crutches are a nice accessory, but not for me." Since then, she has recovered, and after a few months of rest, she returned to activity.
And what is happening with Wonder Woman?
Alongside promoting the new film, Gadot addressed the question that has followed her for several years: will she return to play Wonder Woman? In an interview published on ScreenRant, she said that there have been no specific conversations with James Gunn, Peter Safran, or the studios regarding her return to the role, nor regarding any other character in the new DC universe.
According to her, the last serious conversations concerned the possibility of developing a third "Wonder Woman" film. "They came to the studio and really wanted to develop the third film," she said. Since then, according to her, the situation has changed: "I haven't heard anything."
Gadot also addressed the possibility of someone else taking on the role: "It's such an amazing character that so many of us love so much. Whoever it is that plays her, I wish her to enjoy this wonderful journey with this amazing character." She added that she is grateful for the years she played Diana Prince. Gadot first took on the role in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" in 2016, and later starred in two "Wonder Woman" films and also appeared in other DC films.
According to reports in the American media, a new "Wonder Woman" film is in development and Ana Nogueira is writing the script. As of now, no new actress has been announced for the role. Meanwhile, "The Runner", directed by Kevin Macdonald, will be released on Prime Video on September 2, 2026.
