Gadi Eisenkot Pushes for Emergency Government on Core Principles
Gadi Eisenkot announced plans to form a national emergency government, inviting all factions willing to sign four core principles, including mandatory service and dismantling Hamas.

Gadi Eisenkot, leader of the "Yashar!" party, announced on Friday that he intends to reach out to all factions in the Knesset to form a national emergency government under his leadership. This initiative follows reports that his proposal faced resistance from other political figures.
Eisenkot stated that he will invite any party or lawmaker willing to sign four core principles to join the coalition. These foundational rules include recognizing Israel as a Jewish and democratic state, upholding the values of the Declaration of Independence, mandatory service for all citizens, and recognizing Hamas as a terrorist organization alongside a firm commitment to dismantling its military and governing capabilities.
"I intend to fulfill the mandate given to me by the people and expected from the president with utmost solemnity," Eisenkot declared. He warned that anyone attempting to sabotage the government's formation for personal rather than substantive reasons will be judged harshly by history.
Coalition Plans and Strategy
According to Eisenkot, his plan focuses on swearing in a government as swiftly as possible. While initially envisioned around four Zionist change and reform parties, the framework remains open for any faction or individual lawmaker ready to commit to the four core principles immediately or progressively.
