Strategy Warning and Lieberman Draft Shift Complicate Eisenkot Talks
Political strategist Lior Chorev issued a warning about coalition talks led by Gadi Eisenkot, as Avigdor Lieberman expressed openness to compromises on the ultra-Orthodox draft law to prevent new elections.

Political strategist Lior Chorev published and later deleted a warning on X regarding coalition efforts led by Gadi Eisenkot, sparking intense debate in the Knesset. Chorev cautioned against what he termed a stinking trick concerning potential compromises on the ultra-Orthodox military draft law.
Chorev's Clarification
Following questions from the public, Chorev issued a clarification explaining that his criticism targets discussions over draft law compromises before establishing a realistic scenario for an alternative government. He argued that framing draft compromises without a viable path toward a minority government backed by the change bloc and United Torah Judaism is a deception aimed at undermining public trust.
Lieberman's Policy Shift
Chorev's warning followed Avigdor Lieberman's announcement that Yisrael Beytenu is willing to compromise on the draft law to facilitate a government without Benjamin Netanyahu. Lieberman emphasized that his party will vote against a minority government relying on the abstention of Arab parties, but stressed the necessity of flexibility on other issues to build a 61-seat coalition.
Eisenkot's Political Dilemma
Gadi Eisenkot faces a complex political reality following consultations at the President's Residence, where 67 lawmakers recommended him to form a government compared to 46 for Netanyahu, with United Torah Judaism abstaining. However, the change bloc holds only 48 seats, complicating efforts to secure a parliamentary majority without broader coalition agreements.
