Strikes in southern Lebanon: IDF accuses Hezbollah of ceasefire violation
In parallel with ongoing talks in Rome, the IDF has launched targeted strikes against Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon. Residents of Al-Mansouri village were ordered to evacuate immediately, citing a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement by the terror organization.
Reports emerged this Wednesday regarding IDF strikes in the village of Al-Mansouri, near the city of Tyre. Shortly thereafter, the IDF spokesperson in Arabic announced an immediate evacuation order for the village, accusing Hezbollah of violating the ceasefire agreement.
The IDF officially confirmed the operation: "In response to a blatant violation by Hezbollah, the IDF has begun targeted strikes in southern Lebanon."
"An urgent warning to the residents of Al-Mansouri in Lebanon. In light of the violation of the ceasefire agreement by Hezbollah, the IDF is forced to act with force. For your safety, you must evacuate your homes immediately and move at least 1,000 meters north of the village to an open area," stated Lt. Col. Ella Waweya, the Arabic-language spokesperson.
The 91st Division is conducting strikes south of the 'yellow line' using artillery and aerial fire to target weapons depots and infrastructure. According to Lebanese reports, approximately 15 families evacuated the village following the warning. Separately, reports from Lebanon indicated one fatality and several injuries in a strike in Tibnine.
A military source stated: "The village of Al-Mansouri is located within the security zone under IDF control, where military activity that endangers the lives of Lebanese civilians is still taking place. The civilians arrived under the cover of the Lebanese Army, which set up a checkpoint in the area in violation of the agreements." The Northern Command informed residents near the border that the sounds of explosions are part of approved operations.
The strikes coincide with negotiations in Rome between Israel and Lebanon. The Lebanese LBCI network described the atmosphere as "delicate," noting that discussions focus on pilot zones, the cessation of hostilities, and the destruction of tunnels. The US State Department confirmed that talks are expected to continue through Thursday.
Earlier, the IDF reported that forces from the 300th Brigade and the Yahalom unit destroyed an underground route in the village of Sarbin used by Hezbollah for terror operations. Additionally, the Kfir and 4th Brigades recently located weapons depots containing launchers, anti-tank missiles, and other combat equipment.
