The global supply chain management sector continues to attract strong private equity interest, culminating in a major local acquisition: Fortissimo Capital has acquired Contguard in a notable exit.

The transaction value is estimated at approximately $50 million, according to reports published by local media. Fortissimo is acquiring 100% ownership of the company from Ewave Mobile, the mobile computing and supply chain arm of the Ewave Group. The company's founders will remain in their positions to lead operations under the new ownership.

Advanced Technology for Cargo Security

Based in Hod Hasharon with about 70 employees in Israel and abroad, Contguard has developed advanced technological solutions for international trade challenges, protecting high-value cargo during transit by sea, air, or land. Its systems rely on smart sensors and connected endpoint equipment installed on freight containers and trucks.

The sensors continuously monitor critical parameters, including precise geographic location, route deviations, environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity, and immediate alerts regarding break-ins or tampering with cargo locks. The company's data analytics engine translates this information into real-time alerts, enabling logistics managers to prevent financial losses and analyze shipping patterns. Prominent clients include Amazon, alongside companies in electronics, data centers, and defense industries.

Origins and Previous Milestones

Founded in 2013 by CEO Yiftach Netiv and Business Development Manager Avietar Cohen Habaron, the company originated from logistics vulnerabilities Netiv encountered during his military service. Contguard previously raised approximately $14 million from prominent international investors, including Citigroup's investment arm, Canaan Partners, and AXA Venture Partners.

The path to this exit included several twists. In 2021, the company planned an initial public offering on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and filed a draft prospectus, but later withdrew due to shifting market trends before being acquired by the Ewave Group.

For Fortissimo, founded and managed by Yuval Cohen since 2004, this acquisition aligns with its aggressive expansion strategy in operations and commerce. The fund recently completed the acquisition of RGIS, a global inventory and retail merchandising service provider, in a deal valued at approximately $400 million.
