Forer against Ben Gvir: "Why did the Shin Bet join the investigation into Eymunut only now?"

Two and a half years after the disappearance of Eymunut Kasau, MK Oded Forer (Yisrael Beiteinu), former chairman of the Committee for Immigration, Absorption and Diaspora Affairs, has turned to Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir, demanding answers following the announcement of the Shin Bet's involvement in the investigation.

During numerous discussions held by Forer in the committee, difficult questions were repeatedly raised regarding the conduct of the investigation and the responses provided by the Israel Police. Now, Forer demands to know why the Shin Bet joined the investigation only at this stage and what has changed in the investigative process.

In his letter, MK Forer demands that Minister Ben Gvir explain why the Shin Bet was not involved earlier. He also requested to know whether lines of inquiry that were overlooked in the early stages are currently being examined, whether all possible technological and intelligence means have been utilized throughout, and what the public can do today to assist in locating Eymunut.

MK Forer stated:

"Two and a half years have passed since Eymunut Kasau disappeared. The first days after her disappearance were the most critical. That was precisely when all the capabilities and means available to the state should have been utilized. If the Shin Bet is entering the investigation only two and a half years later, the public is entitled to know the reasons."

"I demand clear answers from Minister Ben Gvir. It is impossible to hide for two and a half years behind the phrase 'an investigation is ongoing.' The state must turn over every stone, utilize every capability, and find Eymunut. This is our duty to her family and to the entire Israeli society."
