Four Arrested in Major Financial Fraud Probe Involving Premier League Club
Israel Police arrested four suspects from a Premier League football club over financial crimes totaling tens of millions of shekels, including tax evasion and money laundering.

The Israel Police, in a joint operation with the Tax Authority, the National Insurance Institute, and the Registrar of Associations, arrested four key suspects linked to a Premier League football club on suspicion of massive financial and economic crimes. The investigation, led by the Lahav 433 sports bribery and gambling unit, transitioned from a covert phase to an open probe after months of intelligence gathering.
Financial Crimes and Systemic Fraud
According to the joint statement, the suspects allegedly engaged in systematic offenses over the course of four seasons, totaling tens of millions of shekels. The suspected crimes include fraud, falsification of corporate documents, forgery, money laundering, and severe violations of income tax ordinances, the National Insurance Law, and the Wage Protection Law. Investigators highlighted that the club allegedly failed to report salaries paid to players to tax authorities.
"Israel Police Lahav 433 will continue to act decisively against criminal phenomena that undermine the purity of sport and public trust," the joint statement read.
Upcoming Interrogations and Club Response
In addition to the four main suspects—believed to be the masterminds behind the financial misconduct—authorities seized luxury vehicles and real estate assets. In the coming days, dozens of current and former football players from the club are expected to be summoned for questioning regarding their knowledge of the unreported payments.
Meanwhile, representatives of the football club have strongly denied the allegations leveled against them, stating that they intend to fight the accusations through legal channels.
