Finland's tourist board is launching a unique project called The Finnish Dinner Date, offering singles a free four-day culinary vacation that combines romantic encounters with Nordic cuisine. Scheduled for February 9–19, 2027, the initiative draws inspiration from the local Sinkkukori trend, where singles shop with a pink basket to signal their availability.

Culinary Destinations and Prominent Chefs

Participants will be divided into two groups: eight heading to the capital, Helsinki, and eight to picturesque Tampere. The all-inclusive package covers round-trip flights, four-star hotel accommodations for three to four nights, transfers, and gourmet chef-led meals valued between $1,200 and $1,800 per person.

In Helsinki, the culinary experience will be led by chef Adele Kinnunen from MasterChef: The Professionals, while chef Henri Tikkanen, who represented the country at the Bocuse d'Or culinary Olympics, will cook in Tampere. The highlight of the trip is a group blind date at a secret location featuring a local tasting menu.

How to Participate in the Project

Single travelers worldwide, including Israel, can apply by uploading a video to Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube describing the perfect romantic dish they would prepare for a date and why. Participants must add the designated hashtag, tag Finland's tourism channels @ourfinland on Instagram or @VisitFinland on TikTok and YouTube, and fill out the application form on the official website.

Registration is open until November 10, 2026, at 11:59 PM Finnish time, with the 16 winners announced on December 1. Finland, ranked the world's happiest country for consecutive years, continues to promote its relaxed lifestyle through unique tourism campaigns.
