The National Fraud Investigation Unit (YAHAL) of Lahav 433 concluded today, Monday, its investigation into a senior official at the Tax Authority and his personal assistant on suspicion of committing offenses of fraud and breach of trust, invasion of privacy, obtaining benefits by deception, and other related crimes.

The investigation, conducted in cooperation with the Civil Service Commission, established an evidentiary basis indicating that the suspects acted in a conflict of interest, violated the privacy of employees, and performed illegal acts, including unauthorized access to another person's mobile phone. As part of the proceedings, evidence was collected that, in the opinion of the investigating unit, substantiates the suspicions of the offenses attributed to them.

Upon completion of the investigation, the case file was transferred to the Jerusalem District Attorney's Office for review and a final decision. The Israel Police stated that it will continue to act with determination to expose public corruption, uncover the truth, and maintain institutional integrity and public trust.
