Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan Holds High-Level Talks in Abu Dhabi
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with UAE leaders in Abu Dhabi following the UN General Assembly, shortly after a visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan visited the United Arab Emirates and met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. Fidan announced the meeting on the X social network on Monday, stating that the visit took place immediately after his participation in events at the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
During his stay in Abu Dhabi, Fidan also held talks with UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and National Security Adviser Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Describing the visit as extremely productive, Fidan noted that it provided an opportunity to discuss bilateral relations and evaluate regional challenges.
The visit comes a day after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the UAE and met with bin Zayed. According to Gulf diplomatic sources, Netanyahu's meeting was also attended by senior representatives from at least two other Gulf nations that do not maintain diplomatic ties with Israel, focusing on regional coordination regarding Iran and the Houthi threat.
