Fattal Group Expands Athens Portfolio With New Leonardo Hotel
The Fattal Hotel Group has expanded its presence in Athens by rebranding the former Great Athens Hotel into the Leonardo Hotel Athens City Center, offering 117 rooms and a rooftop pool.

Athens has become one of the most popular destinations for Israeli travelers in recent years, drawing visitors with its rich culture, shopping, nightlife, and proximity. As tourism continues to surge, the city's accommodation landscape is constantly evolving, offering new choices for both short getaways and extended Greek vacations.
A New Addition to the Athens Hotel Scene
Adding to this dynamic market, a well-known property in the Greek capital has undergone a complete rebranding. Formerly operating as the Great Athens Hotel, the nine-story establishment has officially reopened as the Leonardo Hotel Athens City Center, joining the growing portfolio of the Fattal Hotel Group.
Situated at 12 Veranzerou Street, near Omonia Square, the MINION complex, and the flagship ZARA store, the hotel places guests right in the heart of the city. The property features 117 rooms and suites spread across four distinct categories, including options with private balconies and junior suites to accommodate various traveler preferences.
Amenities and Regional Expansion
One of the standout features of the newly branded hotel is its rooftop complex, which includes a swimming pool, a bar, and a garden offering panoramic views of the Athenian skyline and the Acropolis. Additional amenities include a lobby lounge, a coffee bar, a restaurant, and dedicated seating areas.
For Fattal, this marks the second property in Athens, operating alongside the NYX Esperia Palace Athens, and brings the group's total number of hotels in Greece to five. Company representatives emphasized that Greece remains a key strategic market with strong growth potential.
"Greece is one of the primary markets where we identify continuous potential for expansion, and we plan to further develop the Leonardo brand across the region," company officials stated.
Looking Ahead
Following this launch, the group announced plans to open additional hotels in Greece and Cyprus, alongside future expansions into other Mediterranean destinations such as Montenegro, Croatia, and Albania. For travelers, this rebranding provides yet another modern lodging option in a central location, ideal for maximizing a short vacation in the Greek capital.
