Bereaved families: "Promote 'voluntary emigration' for those wishing to leave the Strip"
Against the backdrop of reports on progress in the Gaza Strip plan and the possibility of an international force, the "Tikva Leumit" movement, representing bereaved families and families of hostages, presents its "critical and non-negotiable" conditions for any future arrangement. Among the demands: complete demilitarization of the Gaza Strip, full security freedom of action for Israel, and the collection of all weaponry. The movement also calls for promoting "voluntary emigration" of Gaza residents.
Against the backdrop of reports regarding progress toward the next phase of the plan in the Gaza Strip and the possibility of introducing an international force into the Strip, the "Tikva Leumit" ("National Hope") movement, which unites bereaved families and families of hostages who survived captivity, presents the conditions that it claims are "critical and non-negotiable" in any future arrangement.
Among the demands presented by the movement: complete demilitarization of the Gaza Strip even before the entry of an international force, ensuring full security freedom of action for Israel, and the collection of all weaponry from the Strip. According to the movement, Israel must receive international guarantees that will allow it to operate within the Strip against terrorists, locate terrorist infrastructure and weaponry, and protect the country's communities.
The families also demand to promote "voluntary emigration" of residents from Gaza who wish to leave the Strip. According to them, such a move could ease the security reality in Israel and weaken the power of Hamas over the local population.
In addition, the movement emphasizes that before any progress within the framework of the phased plan of US President Donald Trump, it must be ensured that no weapons remain in the Strip - light or heavy - that could endanger IDF forces and Israeli citizens.
"We have no trust in Hamas, and unfortunately, not in an international force either"
The movement's families stated: "We must remember that we are the ones who were directly harmed by the previous failure, and many families are still recovering after two years of suffering until the return of our loved ones. The State of Israel must take care of its citizens and maintain its security."
It was further stated: "We have no trust in Hamas, and unfortunately, not in any international force that will arrive. We are responsible for our own security, and we hope that the decision-makers understand this. We must prevent the next October 7th and not let Hamas grow stronger."
The families called on the Prime Minister and the decision-makers not to rely on an international force which, according to them, would be "devoid of authority and without the ability to eliminate Hamas," and added: "Continue the liquidations and defeat Hamas. Without phases and without international forces."
