New Map Initiative Launched in Israel to Promote Affordable Coffee
Former journalist Yuli Salomon and Tal Shenhav launched 'The Fair Coffee Map' in Israel, helping consumers find affordable daily coffee amidst high living costs.

A new initiative named "The Fair Coffee Map" has been launched in Israel to help consumers combat the rising cost of living by locating affordable cafes. Founded by former i24NEWS journalist Yuli Salomon and Tal Shenhav, the project maps coffee shops that offer reasonable prices for daily drinks.
"We got used to high prices for a cup of coffee all over the country and decided to find businesses that still allow people to drink coffee at fair prices and unite them all on one map," Salomon explained. She emphasized that the goal is not to shame expensive establishments, but rather to highlight affordable alternatives and incentivize market competition.
Alongside the initiative, a dedicated website has been launched, allowing users to search for affordable cafes near them, recommend new spots, and submit requests for businesses to join the map. The platform is entirely free and open to the public, relying on crowdsourced recommendations to expand its reach.
