Fahmi Ziadat killed in Jezreel Valley accident; car thief dies in Jerusalem crash
Fahmi Ziadat, who married just a month ago, was killed in a truck collision in the Jezreel Valley. Meanwhile, in Jerusalem, a car theft suspect died after crashing into a pole while fleeing police.
Fahmi Ziadat, a resident of Muqeible in the north, was killed overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday in a collision between a truck and a private car on Highway 675 in the Jezreel Valley. Ziadat had been married for only about a month.
The accident was reported at 04:01 to the MADA 101 dispatch center in the Gilboa region. Paramedics and EMTs evacuated the casualties to HaEmek Hospital in Afula in serious condition, where Ziadat's death was later pronounced.
MADA paramedic Avi Amoyal and EMT Tal Karhi stated:
"This was a serious road accident. Inside the private car, a man about 30 years old was trapped, unconscious, and suffering from significant injuries. The truck driver, who was fully conscious, also suffered serious injuries. During rescue operations, we provided life-saving medical treatment, including applying tourniquets to stop bleeding and providing respiratory assistance."
Residents of his village expressed their grief:
"We woke up to the difficult news of the death of young Fahmi Ziadat. Just a month ago, he celebrated his wedding, an event attended by many family members and friends. Today, villagers arrived at the family home to share in their heavy grief. He was a wonderful person, loved by many. Our hearts are torn."
At the same time, a car theft suspect was killed overnight in Jerusalem. Police received a report regarding a vehicle stolen from the Katamon neighborhood. According to police, the suspect refused to obey orders and began to flee, driving erratically and entering the opposite lane. Officers fired at the vehicle's tires, but the suspect continued until he crashed into a pole and another vehicle at the A-Tur junction. A police officer and a civilian sustained minor injuries, and the suspect—whose identity has not yet been determined—was evacuated in critical condition but was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
