Eyal Eshel to 'Maariv': IRGC members were in the raid on Nahal Oz
Eyal Eshel, father of the late observer Roni Eshel, claims that among the terrorists who raided the Nahal Oz outpost were Persian speakers and members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The IDF states that such information is not known to them.
Eyal Eshel, father of Sergeant Roni Eshel, an observer from the Nahal Oz outpost who was killed in the attack on October 7, revealed shocking information today:
"Among the terrorists who raided the Nahal Oz outpost were Persian speakers, who shouted to each other in the Persian language."
According to Eshel, he received this information from officials, some of whom were present at the outpost. He claims that members of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps participated in the raid. Eshel further stated that the IDF failed to interview all the soldiers who fought in the Gaza envelope on October 7, leaving many testimonies unheard.
"It will not surprise you that the IDF, almost three years later, has not heard all the testimonies of the soldiers," Eshel said in a conversation with "Maariv." An IDF source stated that there is no known information regarding the involvement of Iranian elements in the raid on Nahal Oz.
According to the IDF investigation, the battle for the Nahal Oz outpost was decided within the first 15 minutes of the October 7 attack, as Hamas had spent years preparing for the capture and gathering detailed intelligence. On that morning, 162 soldiers were at the outpost, but only 90 were armed. The investigation pointed to a series of serious failures, including a lack of operational readiness, understaffed defensive positions, and a shortage of firepower.
215 terrorists participated in the attack in three waves. Despite the failures, the investigation highlighted the heroism of commanders and fighters who fought until the last moment. Among them were Senior Warrant Officer Ibrahim Kharuba, who refused to surrender, and Captain Shilo Har-Even, who continued to lead counterattacks despite being seriously wounded. The observers, according to the investigation, acted with professionalism and provided a full, accurate picture of the enemy's actions.
