Exclusive | After more than 900 days: The Haymanot Kasau family launches a crowdfunding campaign to increase the reward

More than 900 days after the disappearance of Haymanot Kasau, her family is taking a new step in an attempt to bring about a breakthrough in the investigation: raising money from the public to assist in continuing the searches and increasing the monetary reward offered for information that will lead to finding her.

The move was revealed after Haymanot's father, Tesfaye Kasau, said in an interview with Danit Barbivai on the podcast "Education on the Agenda" (Maariv) that the family intends to raise money from the public and offer a significant reward in the hope that new information will lead to his daughter.

"We promised a million shekels to whoever finds her. We will collect the money from the public, from the people," said Kasau. "We are also appealing to whoever might be holding her: come to us in secret, receive the money, just return the child."

It has now become known to Maariv that the association for Haymanot has launched a crowdfunding campaign titled "Bringing Haymanot Home." According to the campaign page, the funds are intended to finance the continuation of the searches, increase the monetary reward, and continue the public struggle for finding her.

Haymanot Kasau was nine years old when she disappeared from the absorption center in Safed in February 2024. Since then, her family has been conducting a continuous public struggle demanding to expand the efforts to locate her.

In an interview with Maariv, her father also appealed to the person who might hold information about her fate: "If money is not the issue, I ask this person to think about the day when they will stand before God. What will they say?"
