Investigation: Shin Bet warned IDF about planned tour near Tel village

A Central Command investigation reveals that on the night preceding the deadly shooting incident near the village of Tel, the Shin Bet provided the IDF with initial information regarding intentions to conduct a tour in an area defined as explosive and prone to friction. The investigation, conducted by the commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, Brigadier General Kobi Heller, pointed to a significant gap in the transmission and assimilation of this information to commanders and forces in the field.

Benyahu Malet, a member of the standby squad and the agriculture manager at Havat Gilad, was murdered in the shooting attack near the settlement. Two other people were critically and seriously wounded when several Palestinians attacked the group of hikers.

Following the initial incident, the security officer of Havat Gilad rushed to the scene. At approximately 8:20, a report was received regarding a gunshot victim after Palestinians stole the security officer's weapon and fired at the hikers.

It was later reported that three hikers were wounded, including one critically and two seriously. After medical teams provided treatment, the death of one victim, a man aged about 30, was pronounced.
