Just yesterday evening, an unusual incident was reported near the farm in Susya in the southern Hebron Hills, during which a physical confrontation took place between a farmer, a resident of the area, a soldier about 25 years old in active service who was on leave at home, and a Palestinian who was grazing in the area. During the confrontation, the Palestinian wounded the farmer in the head with a stone and snatched his military weapon.
Following this, the attacker fired shots toward a farm near the scene of the incident and fled the scene, armed with the stolen weapon, while the farmer was moderately wounded by the stone impact. MADA medics and paramedics provided him with medical treatment at the scene and subsequently evacuated him to Soroka Hospital with a head injury. At the same time, large forces of the IDF and Border Police are conducting a manhunt for the Palestinian. The stolen weapon was located, but the forces are continuing the pursuit of the suspect.
At the same time, security forces arrested more than 70 wanted persons yesterday and questioned hundreds of suspects as part of a widespread operation throughout Judea and Samaria. The activity focused on several areas, including a raid on the village of the terrorist who carried out yesterday's shooting attack.
The main focus of the security forces' activity tonight was in the village of Tell in the Samaria region, the place of residence of the terrorist who carried out the shooting attack on Friday. During the raid, Nahal Reconnaissance Unit soldiers arrested 11 wanted persons and questioned about 80 suspects. Simultaneously, the forces searched more than 300 buildings and various locations throughout the sector and arrested suspects identified with Hamas and those who promoted explosive device attacks.
In the Tulkarm area, Duvdevan unit soldiers arrested a person who planned to carry out an attack soon, as well as an activist identified with Hamas, along with 13 other wanted persons arrested in the area.
In the Binyamin region, the forces operated in several locations simultaneously and arrested about 20 wanted persons who were involved in planning attacks, throwing Molotov cocktails, and arms trafficking. 50 additional suspects in the area underwent field questioning.
In addition, in the Etzion and Judea sectors, 16 suspects were arrested for incitement, ties to Hamas, and arms trafficking offenses. In one of the locations, the soldiers located and confiscated a hunting rifle. All detainees were transferred for further investigation.
