The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX told 'The Economist' that he believes in a future world where artificial intelligence and robotics will create unprecedented abundance, rendering money far less significant than it is today.

According to Musk, "money will not have meaning in 2035," as a world where robots can produce goods and services on a massive scale could fundamentally alter the economic system as we know it.

These remarks sparked numerous reactions, including from Nobel Prize-winning economist Daron Acemoglu, who challenged Musk to prove his conviction by donating his wealth to charity. Acemoglu wrote on the X network that if Musk truly believes money will lose its importance, he should commit to transferring his fortune to social causes by 2036.

Musk responded to the challenge by writing:

"Actually, I am going to do something in that direction."

However, he did not specify what move he intended to make or provide further details regarding the future of his assets.
