Eli Finish reveals an embarrassing mistake by Channel 12 News: "My mother passed away"

Actor Eli Finish shared today (Thursday) an embarrassing conversation with a Channel 12 News researcher, during which he was asked if he would like to take part in a new segment on the morning show.

"We show a picture of a celebrity's mother, and the audience and the panel have to guess, then the mother comes on for a short and cute interview," the researcher wrote and asked if this could be relevant for the actor, who explained: "My mother passed away 42 years ago, but I am sure she would have been happy to participate."

The mistake came against the backdrop of a major failure at Channel 12 News. As part of a report titled "The Secrets of KKL" which dealt with allegedly corrupt political appointments, the channel displayed the photo of YASAM fighter Eli Alikashvili (of blessed memory) as someone who allegedly received a position as part of internal politics in the Likud. This was just a day after they chose to attack a publication on Channel 14 regarding the Military Advocate General.

Alikashvili, a hero of Israel who was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident in March 2023 just before he was set to go to officer training, became against his will the "face" of political corruption in prime time, due to an embarrassing identification error between his photo and that of forester Shahar Maimon. Alikashvili's mother told Channel 14 how much the publication affected her: "I saw him in such a negative report – I was literally traumatized."

As recalled, just about half a year ago, similar negligence was recorded at Channel 12 News, when they "killed" an innocent Israeli woman named Noya Zion and claimed "by mistake" that she was a young woman who died in protests in Iran. We note that this same mistake was immediately exploited by the propaganda engines of the regime in Tehran to spread claims about Israeli disinformation.
