The Israel Ministry of Defense and the IDF have signed a 15-year agreement valued at approximately 600 million shekels with Elbit Systems to establish a comprehensive training and simulation center for the Artillery Corps. The facility will support the military's next-generation artillery platforms, including the Roem (SIGMA) advanced howitzer and the PULS (Lahav) rocket launcher systems.

Under the terms of the long-term contract, Elbit Systems will develop and deliver advanced training infrastructure, simulation systems, instructional services, maintenance, and ongoing logistical support. The project is designed to incorporate cutting-edge simulation technologies that shorten qualification periods, enhance combat readiness, and reduce the reliance on active operational platforms for routine training purposes.

Boosting IDF Combat Readiness

Zeev Landau, head of the Directorate for Defense Procurement (HINRAR), emphasized that the agreement aims to bolster the operational readiness of the IDF by integrating advanced training systems with comprehensive long-term support. Boaz Cohen, general manager of Elbit's Land and C4I division, noted that the new setup will provide high-quality, efficient training for artillery personnel.

This domestic contract adds to a series of major international agreements secured by Elbit Systems throughout the year. Recent transactions include a 235 million dollar contract to supply EXTRA-MR rockets and PULS launchers to a European nation, and a 200 million dollar agreement in the Asia-Pacific region for aerial ISTAR systems and training solutions.
