El Al launches a new route to a destination very popular with Israelis — for only $299
The subsidiary Sun d'Or is launching a direct flight route to a sought-after destination in northern Italy, which will also serve as a starting point for popular ski resorts, and is offering tickets at special introductory prices.
Sun d'Or, part of the El Al Group, is launching a new route to Verona in northern Italy, adding to the company's growing map of destinations with two flights per week.
The new service is scheduled to begin on October 25, 2026, with flights departing on Sundays and Thursdays. To mark the launch, Sun d'Or is offering introductory round-trip tickets starting at $299 for the LITE fare, which includes carry-on baggage and a trolley.
Verona is an especially attractive choice for Israelis seeking a winter getaway that combines a classic European city break with access to nearby ski areas. Its location in northern Italy provides easy driving access to various ski resorts and regional highlights, such as Lake Garda. Furthermore, Verona is world-renowned as the setting for Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," offering visitors a blend of history, culture, culinary delights, and a romantic atmosphere.
Verona joins Sun d'Or's list of winter destinations, which also includes Larnaca and Paphos in Cyprus, Batumi and Tbilisi in Georgia, Tirana in Albania, Chisinau in Moldova, Belgrade in Serbia, Krakow and Warsaw in Poland, Salzburg in Austria, and Lyon in France.
Through this expansion, the company is targeting ski enthusiasts with options in Georgia, Poland, and Serbia, alongside established winter favorites like Salzburg and Lyon. Many of these cities also offer the perfect backdrop for short vacations featuring Christmas markets, vibrant nightlife, and local cultural experiences.
Tickets can be booked via the El Al website or through travel agents.
