El Al Israel Airlines has announced a massive dividend payout of $116.2 million for the third quarter of 2026, coinciding with its historic entry into the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange's flagship TA-35 index. The strong financial performance reflects the peak summer travel season, though net profit saw a 14% decline to $172.2 million.

Despite the drop in net profit, quarterly revenues surged by 18% to reach $1.27 billion. The carrier currently trades at a market capitalization of 11.3 billion shekels, completing an extraordinary 588% surge over the past three years. This marks the second time this year that the airline is distributing major dividends, following a $106 million payout in January, which was its first dividend distribution since 2017.

History is being made as the airline officially enters the TA-35 benchmark index after winning a competitive race against renewable energy firm Energix last month. However, market analysts note that despite this prestigious upgrade, the stock is expected to face institutional sell-offs exceeding 300 million shekels due to portfolio rebalancing.
