Eisenkot on the question of mergers: "We are preparing surprises for the next three days"

The chairman of the Yashar party, Gadi Eisenkot, participated on Friday in a 'Shishi Tarbut' event in Rishon LeZion, where he addressed various issues, including the feasibility of mergers, as the deadline for submitting lists to the Knesset approaches.

"I bring with me leadership, decision-making ability, a deep commitment to the State of Israel and to do the brave things, and you'll be surprised, I also do politics - and wait another 3 days and another 53 days. The test is the test of the result, and I am convinced that we will build a winning political array," said Eisenkot.

He added: "I am convinced that on the 27th of the month the victory will be much greater than 58, it will be over 60, so there will be mergers. I am talking to everyone; if I publish it, it will be unserious. We are preparing more surprises for the next three days. I am convinced that it will happen and hope that it will happen; it will be for the benefit of the State of Israel, and that is how it will be until the elections themselves."

"Out of sync"

Eisenkot addressed the fact that it took three and a half hours until the first conversation between Benjamin Netanyahu and the Chief of Staff on the morning of October 7: "This is complete insensitivity, being out of sync. A Chief of Staff should receive a phone call within a maximum of 10-15 minutes. To talk to him about the most serious event since the founding of the state after three and a half hours is absurd. I did not know this figure."

"Since I was a member of the Subcommittee on Intelligence and saw the investigations of the Shin Bet, the IDF, and Aman, I saw the data. The Prime Minister's intelligence aide, if I remember correctly, receives the full picture at 3:20 in the morning. Since I was a military secretary myself, I know that the practice is that if you updated the military secretary, you updated the Prime Minister."

"We should be very concerned about the way Benjamin Netanyahu and his family, his entourage, and ministers in the Likud are trying to manipulate the Israeli public with lies that there was a betrayal here, and therefore they did not wake him up. And because they did not wake him up, he did not give everyone the orders. I know from knowing him that waking up quickly is not his strongest trait. In every meeting with young people, I ask: who thinks there was a betrayal theory here? Between a third and a half raise their hand."

When asked about Sara Netanyahu's words against Yair Golan, the Yashar chairman responded: "It is a very serious event to talk about the fact that her husband did not save the State of Israel that morning because commanders in the army did not want to wake him up out of a desire to betray or promote a personal agenda. Yair Golan, a brave hero, over 60, takes himself and runs there; one should cherish this and salute him. Instead, they try to say that he is part of the conspiracy. This is a crazy thing that must be condemned, and we must politically punish people who spread this lie."
