Binyamina Resident Indicted for Murdering His Brother Over Inheritance Dispute
State prosecutors have indicted 36-year-old Ohad Arad for the murder of his brother, Asa Shaul Arad. The fatal attack occurred in Moshav Ein Ayala following a long-standing financial dispute over inheritance.

The State Attorney's Office filed an indictment with the Haifa District Court against Ohad Arad, 36, from Binyamina-Givat Ada, charging him with the intentional murder of his brother, the late Asa Shaul Arad.
According to the indictment, filed by attorney Najwa Sleiman of the Haifa District Attorney's Office, the motive behind the act was a financial dispute and conflict regarding inheritance matters that had been ongoing between the two brothers since 2022.
On July 30, 2026, the defendant arrived unannounced at the mobile home where his brother lived in Moshav Ein Ayala. During his stay, the defendant attacked his brother with the intent to cause his death, striking him severely in the head and eye, and applying heavy pressure to his neck and mouth to strangle him. The indictment states that even though the victim fell to the floor and attempted to defend himself, the defendant continued the assault until his brother died at the scene.
Following the act, the defendant left the mobile home, leaving his helpless brother behind. He later informed their mother that the victim was dead, but fled the community before emergency services and police arrived at the scene to declare the death.
