Efrat Rayten demands 170,000 shekels from Yinon Magal: "You have 24 hours"
MK Efrat Rayten has sent a pre-lawsuit warning to Yinon Magal following a post on X in which he labeled her "the traitor of 7/10." She demands the removal of the post and compensation of 169,622 shekels, setting a 24-hour ultimatum before legal action is initiated.

Chair of the Democrats faction, MK Efrat Rayten, sent a pre-lawsuit warning letter today, Thursday, to Yinon Magal following a post he published on X in which he called her "the traitor of 7/10." In the letter, Rayten demands the removal of the post and the payment of 169,622 shekels in compensation, clarifying that if the demands are not met within 24 hours, a defamation lawsuit will be filed against him.
In the letter, sent via attorney Yossi Abadi, it is claimed that the publication constitutes defamation. The use of the term "traitor," specifically the combination "the traitor of 7/10," crosses red lines and constitutes, according to Rayten, severe slander and incitement against her. It is further noted that after the publication, Rayten approached Magal with a public demand to remove the content, but the post remained online even after the warning.
According to the letter, the claimed compensation is based on the statutory amount set forth in the Prohibition of Defamation Law, which, according to Rayten's representatives, is doubled due to the intent to cause harm, totaling 169,622 shekels. Additionally, Rayten demands the removal of the publication from every platform where it was posted. If the demands are not met within 24 hours, the letter states, she will turn to the court and pursue all available legal proceedings.
In a statement she released, Rayten said:
"The days when severe libel and the spreading of lies will be met with silence are over. Magal incited, slandered, and lied — Magal will pay."
