Edmond Safra continues his investment strategy, completing the largest deal in Hapoel Tel Aviv's history. Red Star Belgrade player Douglas Owusu has signed a four-season contract.
The new owner of Hapoel Tel Aviv football club, Edmond Safra, is determined to restore the club to its glory days, and his recent transfer activity suggests he is firmly on the right track.
Following the purchase of Daniel Dapa from Maccabi Netanya last year for 1.8 million euros—a record at the time—the billionaire finalized the biggest acquisition in the club's history today (Wednesday). Hapoel Tel Aviv announced the signing of Red Star Belgrade player Douglas Owusu, who has committed to a 4-season contract.
Estimates suggest Hapoel Tel Aviv will pay the Serbian champions approximately 2.5 million euros for the player, with an annual salary of around 350,000 euros. Owusu has undergone rigorous medical examinations, and provided the "Reds" register him by midnight, he will be eligible to feature in the upcoming third qualifying round of the Conference League against Polish side Katowice.

20-year-old Owusu moved to Serbia two years ago. After beginning last season with Radnik Surdulica, where he scored 7 goals in 20 appearances, he was acquired by Red Star Belgrade in January. With the Serbian champions, he scored two more goals in 13 appearances and secured the domestic double.
"I am very excited to join this huge club. I have seen the extraordinary displays of the crowd at the games, and I believe that together with the team, we will fight and give everything for Hapoel. I am waiting to see you in Hungary. Yalla Hapoel," Owusu said after the signing.
