Eden Harel and Oded Menashe: 'Parting with our son is not simple at all'
The well-known TV presenting couple shared on Instagram the emotional struggle they face every week when their youngest son, Uria, returns to his IDF base. This time, the farewell before a family vacation felt particularly difficult.
Last March, Eden Harel and Oded Menashe said goodbye to their 19-year-old son, Uria, as he began his combat service in the IDF. Five months after he left home, Harel opened up about the sadness that fills her every time he is forced to return to his base.
In an emotional post uploaded this Sunday to her Instagram page, she shared her feelings about the difficult separation, which occurred just before the family left for a summer vacation in Eilat that Uria had to miss. "This morning Uria returned to the army, and we continued on to our summer vacation in Eilat," she wrote.
"It is not simple at all and even sad. He asked me, 'Why the tears and sadness?' and I told him, 'Because I love you, and without you, the vacation is not complete.' But he also knows how proud we are of his contribution and dedication to our dear people."
She concluded with her characteristic humor: "Good thing he doesn't have Instagram and isn't aware of what I'm posting."
As previously reported, Eden Harel is set to return to reality television on Keshet 12. The presenter will participate in the new season of "MasterChef: Dream Team," which brings together standout contestants from all previous seasons to compete for the title once again.
