Dramatic development in the investigation of the assassination of Osher Kadosh in Netivot: the main suspect in involvement in the incident was released from custody. The assassination occurred about a month ago, and the suspect who was arrested is a resident of the city whom the police suspected of being involved in the incident - but not in the shooting itself. After 20 days in custody, the police released him.
The police investigation revealed that the suspect was at the scene and that he was near Kadosh - who arrived at the scene with the shooter. Attorney Eyal Avital, the suspect's defense attorney, stated in response:
"I am happy that the police reached the conclusion that my client is innocent and decided to release him."
About three weeks ago, Kadosh was assassinated in Netivot. MADA medics and paramedics who were called to the scene provided him with medical treatment and performed resuscitation efforts, while he was unconscious with a penetrating injury - but as mentioned, eventually the medical teams were forced to declare his death.
Upon receiving the report, many police forces from the Negev district were called to the scene, who began accelerated investigative actions, collected findings at the scene, and carried out a variety of intelligence and investigative actions with the goal of tracking down those involved in the incident. At the end of a situation assessment held by the Southern District Commander, Nitzav Haim Bublil, the murder investigation was assigned to the Central Unit of the Negev district.
In addition, a 29-year-old man was lightly wounded in the incident, apparently a passerby who was passing by the scene and was not involved in the incident. MADA teams provided him with medical treatment, as he had penetrating injuries.
Later, it became known from sources familiar with the investigation that there is a suspicion that some of those involved are no longer in the country.
