Drama in the Iranian regime's leadership: Who is misleading the Supreme Leader?

As reported this evening (Thursday) on Channel 14 News, information received from a source close to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) indicates that behind Iran's offensive line lies a much deeper power struggle at the top of the regime. This raises the question of who is truly running the country today.

Mojtaba Khamenei, though Supreme Leader, does not receive a true picture of Iran's situation in practice. Data regarding inflation, financial shortages, unemployment, hunger, and public anger do not reach him in their full intensity. Contrary to the image of a leader who controls every detail, Mojtaba is, in reality, far less aware of the situation than it appears from the outside.

Those ensuring this are the Revolutionary Guards, specifically Vahidi. According to the information in our possession, Vahidi and his associates are intentionally misleading Mojtaba, presenting him with a partial picture and filtering reality to maintain full freedom of action for the IRGC—allowing them to act, make decisions, and escalate tensions without needing the Supreme Leader's approval every time.

While members of the IRGC are well aware of the erosion of Iranian society and the anger accumulating on the streets, the leadership surrounding Mojtaba is becoming increasingly radical under the offensive direction led by Vahidi and his men. From this derives the regime's dangerous logic: escalate externally to survive internally.

The goal is to strike at the Americans and drag President Donald Trump into a response that would turn the economic crisis into a national war, in an attempt to reunite the public around an external enemy. Thus, while Mojtaba sits at the top of the pyramid, Vahidi and the IRGC are the ones who actually hold the freedom of action and the true picture of reality, and they are the ones determining the direction in which Iran is heading.
