Dolev Haziza: 'I am trying to suppress the last month and a half'

Maccabi Netanya lost 3:2 this evening (Sunday) to Hapoel Ramat Gan in the battle of the leaders in Group B, missing a great opportunity to get closer to the Toto Cup semi-finals.

Midfielder Dolev Haziza, who came on as a substitute in the second half, said at the end:

"I missed playing. I have been through some difficult things since the beginning of the season and I missed the pitch. It is fun to play in front of a crowd. I am happy to be on the pitch, but it is disappointing that we did not manage to equalize at the end. This is a Toto Cup game, but I do not accept such a loss. We should not concede three goals at home, no matter what competition we are playing in. We will learn from this and do everything to win the next game and try to reach the semi-finals."

Haziza, who went through a difficult period after leaving Maccabi Haifa, said:

"The day will come when I will elaborate more on what I went through; I am trying to suppress the last month and a half. I was seven years at Maccabi Haifa, last year I was also captain. When you are down you sometimes have to be silent, the ending disappoints me. I have been down lately on a personal level, the time will come and we will talk about all the matters. The moment I received the call from Maccabi Netanya and Roni Levy, and they showed me how much they want me, I made the decision."

When asked again about the recent period, the midfielder preferred not to elaborate:

"I do not want to elaborate because it will take a lot of time. There are much greater players who have parted ways with clubs. One can argue about the way if it was good or not, but now I have arrived at a place where I want to be. I was born here in Netanya and I am connected to the city. I want to do everything so that the crowd will come. From the moment we narrowed the gap, I felt that we were on the way to equalize. We hope to fix it already in the next game on Wednesday."
