"Do I need to say amen?": Yinon Magal was recruited for a surprising mission | Watch

Journalist David Wertheim found himself in an amusing situation yesterday while looking for assistance in affixing a mezuzah. In a post on his X account, alongside a photo with "The Patriots" host Yinon Magal, he wrote: "And here is the news: I moved apartments. I was looking for someone to install a mezuzah for me, and this is who they sent me from the Rabbinate. Next time, only the Midrag website." Magal took on the task and helped the journalist affix the mezuzah in his new home.

In the video, Magal is seen reciting the blessing for the occasion while, from the side, Wertheim asked: "Now will I be like Irit Linor?". After the host finished, the journalist wondered: "Do I need to say amen or something?", and Magal replied: "Say amen, yashar koach!". Later, Wertheim joked that "for the next installation, I'm bringing Gilad Kariv". Magal, not missing the opportunity, responded: "I suggest you check the mezuzahs".

As mentioned, "The Patriots" panelist Irit Linor also recently fulfilled the commandment with the help of the leader of "Operation Mezuzah", Yaki Adamker, and affixed eight new mezuzahs on the doorways of her home. Linor thanked Adamker and those present, noting that she did not know until now that according to Halacha, mezuzahs should also be affixed on internal doorways:

"I will start by thanking all the good people who came here to help me fulfill a commandment that I did not know about until now."

The initiative was born after Adamker affixed a mezuzah in the home of Guy Meroz, who was documented wearing a bicycle helmet instead of a kippah. Following the many warm responses, Adamker announced on a live broadcast of "The Patriots" the launch of a national mezuzah charity fund, committing to personally arrive anywhere in the country to affix a mezuzah for every Jew who requests it.
