Documentation: Elimination of Yahya Sinwar's Bodyguard and a Nukhba Operative
Hazem Musa and Rizk Abu Shahma, who participated in the raid on the Re'im base on October 7, were eliminated in IDF and Shin Bet strikes earlier this week. The army explains that the two were planning operations against forces in violation of the ceasefire and clarifies that they will continue to act to remove threats.
The IDF and Shin Bet eliminated two Hamas operatives who participated in the October 7 massacre earlier this week in the Khan Yunis area in the southern Gaza Strip. One of the dead, Rizk Sahil Suleiman Abu Shahma, previously served as a bodyguard for Yahya Sinwar.
The first strike took place on Sunday, during which Hazem Musa, an operative of the Nukhba force of Hamas's military wing, was killed. A day later, on Monday, the forces attacked another target in the area and eliminated Abu Shahma. Both of the dead were among the terrorists who infiltrated the Re'im base at the outbreak of the war.
According to the army, in recent times the two had been trying to rehabilitate the organization's capabilities and were promoting plans to harm IDF forces and civilians. These actions are defined by the security establishment as a systematic violation of the ceasefire, and the strikes were intended to prevent the plans from being carried out.
Against the backdrop of the eliminations, the Southern Command emphasizes that the forces remain deployed in the area in accordance with the terms of the existing agreement, but maintain freedom of action and will continue to thwart immediate threats in the field.
