Yossi Kucik is a distinct leftist figure. A person less known to the general public but very familiar in leftist circles and among the Kaplan protesters. Among other things, he served as the Director General of the Prime Minister's Office during the Ehud Barak era, was one of the leaders of the Kaplan protest, and sat on the steering committee alongside names like Shikma Bressler, Orni Petruschka, Ilan Shiloah, and others. He is a board member at the Israel Democracy Institute and serves on the advisory committee of the Wexner Foundation.

Recently, he was seen again in the vicinity of Gadi Eisenkot. In fact, there is a long-standing connection between the two. Eisenkot was the military secretary to Ehud Barak when Kucik served as Director General of the office, and when Eisenkot left the position of Chief of Staff, the first business offer he received and the first role he took was a membership on the board of directors of the company 'Tzur Shamir Holdings', of which Kucik was the chairman.
