Two illegal aliens killed in accident after driver breaks through Jerusalem checkpoint
A driver who broke through a checkpoint in Jerusalem and caused a fatal accident has been arrested by police. Two illegal aliens were killed after being ejected from the vehicle's trunk, and a third remains in critical condition.

A vehicle driver who broke through a checkpoint in Jerusalem, fled while driving recklessly and caused a car accident in which two illegal aliens were killed, was arrested by Jerusalem District police officers. Another person who was ejected from the trunk was evacuated for medical treatment in critical condition.
The incident occurred last Sunday at the Ha-Tabaat checkpoint in Jerusalem. Security guards signaled the vehicle to stop for a routine check and to open the trunk, but the driver accelerated, refused to obey orders, and began to flee the scene. During the escape, while driving in a dangerous manner, the driver lost control of the vehicle and caused an accident. Jerusalem District police officers, forensics experts, and traffic accident investigators arrived at the scene.
Investigation findings revealed that due to the force of the impact, three illegal aliens were ejected from the trunk. Medical teams summoned to the scene pronounced two of them dead, while the third was evacuated in critical condition. The driver fled the scene after the accident.
Following the incident, an investigation was opened, alongside extensive search and location operations. As part of the investigation, officers from the Shalem station in the Jerusalem District located the suspected driver and arrested him. The suspect, a 24-year-old resident of East Jerusalem, was transferred for questioning at the police station.
The police are expected to request the extension of the suspect's detention in court.
