Hadera is in deep mourning following the passing of Idan Morad (of blessed memory), a prominent social activist and a key leader in the Ha-Park neighborhood, who died at the age of 40 after a battle with a severe illness. For many years, Morad was deeply involved in community work and was a well-known figure within the local area.
Morad was among the founders of the Ha-Park neighborhood, playing a pivotal role in establishing the neighborhood committee and organizing activities for residents during its early development. He led various public campaigns addressing critical issues, including infrastructure improvements and the placement of public facilities.
Later, Morad helped found the "Mehubarim" faction, though he remained primarily focused on community-driven initiatives. His work included organizing events for children, providing assistance to residents, and fostering connections among local business owners. Even recently, he continued to champion projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life for the residents of Ha-Park.
City council member Eti Atias, a long-time partner of Morad, paid tribute to a man who dedicated his life to bringing people together. She noted that he "simply loved everyone and served everyone," ensuring that no one was left behind. Other council members also shared their respects; Ron Shagan described him as a "natural leader and a true man of action," while Yaniv Dari praised his caring nature and his commitment to the city and the community.
Hadera Mayor Nir Ben Haim also honored Morad, describing him as a "people person and a man of true action." The Mayor highlighted his long-standing dedication to the Ha-Park neighborhood and expressed his deepest condolences to his family, noting his role as a devoted father and husband.
The funeral for Idan Morad will take place on Wednesday at 18:00 at the new cemetery in Hadera. Residents have already begun discussing initiatives to commemorate his legacy.
