Tal Ben-Haim, CEO and Vice President of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, passed away on Sunday following a prolonged battle with illness.

In an official statement, the university noted: "Tal was one of the prominent leaders of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and a central partner in shaping its path in recent years. Since taking office in 2022, he led significant initiatives to strengthen the university, improve services for students, develop infrastructure, and advance its academic and strategic goals." The eulogy highlighted that throughout his illness, Tal continued to demonstrate courage, determination, and exceptional dedication to the university and its community. His deep commitment to the institution served as a source of inspiration for many.

Prof. Daniel Chamovitz, President of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, paid tribute to him: "Today we say goodbye to a leader, a colleague, and a friend. His loss is a heavy blow to his family, his friends, and the entire university community." Yossi Rokni will serve as acting CEO given the unfortunate circumstances.
