Heavy loss in the construction industry: Respected contractor passed away unexpectedly at age 42
Guy Suria, of blessed memory, chairman of the Neve Ativ association and a contractor who operated in the north, passed away over the weekend following a cardiac event abroad. He is survived by his wife and two children.
Miki Inbar, spokesperson for the Hermon site and a friend of Suria, paid tribute to him on the program "Talking on the Radio" on Radio Kol Rega.
"I have known Guy since childhood, he served as chairman of the association and everything he did was to promote the moshav. He was a man of action of the highest order," she said.
Inbar also addressed Suria's professional work as a contractor. According to her, he "was a professional contractor and he built many houses in the Galilee and the Golan." She added that "everyone was struck with shock," and noted that those who worked with him knew that he could be relied upon: "You knew that his word is his word. Professionals loved working with him, and of course, clients did too."
According to her, Suria was "a man with a huge heart who sought to do good." Regarding his activity in Neve Ativ, she said that he used to say: "He is doing this for our children."
Inbar also told of the circumstances of his death: "He traveled on Thursday for a trip with friends abroad, and to our great sorrow, he apparently suffered a heart attack; he was treated, but they could not save him." According to her, the news left deep pain among his acquaintances and those around him.
"He is a man full of life. Touching everyone," said Inbar. "He leaves a huge hole everywhere he was. A focal point for many people. He loved life." She also said that Suria used to say: "We arrived here for one round and we need to do it properly."
In Neve Ativ, they parted from him with pain. In a statement published by Neve Ativ Tourism, it was written: "We are all shocked and pained in Neve Ativ by the untimely passing of Guy Suria, a member of the moshav and chairman of the association." It was further written that he was "a dear man who had a great positive influence on everyone around him, in Neve Ativ, Majdal Shams, and the entire northern Golan."
In the statement, they added: "We are still not processing the bitter news... We love you, Guy, we will never forget you and all the good you brought to the moshav and your surroundings. May your memory be blessed."
