Chadbon, a native of Luton, enjoyed a rich and diverse screen career spanning nearly half a century. One of his most prominent and memorable roles was playing the private detective Duggan in the classic "Doctor Who" episode "City of Death" (1979) — an episode that recorded a record-breaking audience of over 16 million viewers and remains the most-watched in the show's history.
Throughout his decades in the industry, Chadbon became a familiar face across a wide variety of film and television productions. In cinema and drama, he appeared in the spy film "Casino Royale" alongside Daniel Craig and featured in the 1997 ITV television adaptation of "Rebecca," starring alongside Charles Dance and Diana Rigg.
