"Find children who do not care if they get caught": The main defendant in the "minor spies" case received a total sum of approximately 3,500 shekels from an agent acting on behalf of Iran. He was arrested upon landing at Ben Gurion Airport. Earlier today, Sunday, it was revealed that minors from the Haifa and Krayot area were allegedly operated by an Iranian intelligence agent, photographed strategic sites, and sprayed graffiti.
The agent demanded that the defendant photograph a mall, certain roads, and a government building in the Tel Aviv area, as well as document the number of exits and the number of security guards at the mall. The second defendant refused to join the mission after telling his friend that he suspected it was an Iranian agent, but the main defendant carried it out, transferred the photos and information to the agent, and received about 600 shekels in return.
In one of the missions, he photographed the Seven Stars Mall in Herzliya, and then deleted the videos he sent for fear that the agent would use them to carry out an attack - but remained in contact with him. Later, he asked the operator if he was Iranian and was told that he was "connected to Iran," and even sent him a photo of his passport and face to verify his identity in exchange for about 100 dollars. The agent transferred money to the minor to purchase a new phone for the purpose of establishing a channel to recruit additional operatives, but the minor did not purchase the device.
In a voice message he sent to his friend, he asked him to add "as many children as possible" to the Telegram channel, and clarified that he was looking for "children who do not care if they get caught" for "high-risk" missions. According to the indictment, as part of a mission they received from the Iranian agent, the two sprayed graffiti under a bridge in Kiryat Motzkin. For spraying the inscriptions and documenting them, the main defendant received about 250 dollars and the second one 150 shekels.
"Extremism has given us endless wars," "Our future is not in the hands of a dictator," and "We will allow the war to stain our lives" were written by the minors. The prosecution requested to keep both minors in custody until the end of the proceedings.
