Rising basketball star Deni Avdija, a player for the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA, is visiting Israel and spoke about it in an interview with the program "HaOlam HaBoker":
"In Israel, I feel good as always: sun, sea, and good food — these are the things I choose to focus on. It is fun to receive the love of the people and return to the people I love."
When Avdija returns to Israel, he looks forward most to his mother's cooking, but does not forget to show gratitude: "I love to spoil my mother with the money I earn, mainly with clothes, bags, and shoes."

Avdija was recently chosen to be the new presenter for the "Matmid" frequent flyer club of "El Al" along with other Israeli stars. He elaborated on the collaboration:
"Because I fly a lot and am in planes most of my life, it is fun to be part of a flight. The video will be shown for a long time and it is fun that they chose me."
He added: "I define myself as a regular guy who loves to play basketball, who tries to focus on work and along the way receives various titles."
As the first Israeli to be selected for the league's All-Star game, Avdija does not forget where he came from and feels a sense of pride: "I try to do what I can, it is fun for me to represent Israel and I feel that I still have a lot to aspire to. It was a good season for me and the team."
Regarding future plans, he noted: "I aspire to reach further in the playoffs on a team level. It is fun to make the All-Star game on a personal level, but it is more important to me to be part of a winning and successful team."
